Mrs. Lynn White
Lab biology is an exciting and challenging course. We will be doing a lot of interactive, hands-on activities on a regular basis. Your student will also learn to do a complete formal lab design and report and will master this process by the end of the year. We will be using Google Classroom as well as interactive notebooks throughout the curriculum, so monitoring both of these will provide insight into your student's progress.
I have a Google website that is an outstanding resource and I highly recommend subscribing to updates at https://sites.google.com/site/mrswhitesbiologypage/home. Another way to stay on top of classroom news is to subscribe to my confidential texting service through remind.com by texting the message @mrswparent to 81010. Students have been given the codes to sign up for class texts and you can find those on my Google Site. Once Classroom parent access is enabled, I will post information on how to view your student's Classroom activity. I also recommend making sure that you have an updated email address on file with the office and entered into Infinite Campus as I do sometimes send out mass email updates. I like to keep parents informed of what we are doing!
Feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns. My goal is to partner with you and your child to ensure success not only in my class but in future college and career goals.
I've been married to my husband, Glen, for 29 years. We are both University of California, Irvine grads and we have three young-adult children who mostly grew up in north San Diego County. Our youngest is a senior at Colorado State and her brothers have moved back to San Diego after also going away for school. My husband's job has moved us a couple of times in within California over the past few years and has now brought us to the Phoenix area for a more permanent assignment.
I have been teaching since 1988 and have worked in all grades from kindergarten on up. High school biology is definitely my favorite subject/grade and I am excited to be part of the amazing science team here at Highland.
My hobbies include hiking, travel, photography, scrapbooking, reading, and volunteering at church.
