Welcome!

Chemistry: This is a lab-oriented course designed to emphasize the use of the scientific method for problem solving.  Topics covered in the course include formulation of predictions, questions and hypotheses based on observations as well as designing and conducting controlled experiments.  Students will learn to analyze and communicate data collected from experiments as well as propose future investigations.  Basic concepts in chemistry such as physical, chemical and atomic properties of matter, methods for measurement of matter and energy, conservation of matter and energy during chemical reactions and interaction between matter and energy will be used as content for the investigations.

Physics: This is a lab-oriented course designed to emphasize the use of the scientific method for problem solving and development of models (both mathematical and conceptual).  Topics covered in the course include formulation of predictions, questions and hypotheses based on observations as well as designing and conducting controlled experiments.  Students will learn to analyze and communicate data collected from experiments as well as propose future investigations.  Basic concepts in physics such as velocity, acceleration, projectile motion, momentum, forces, electricity, sound and light will be used as content for the investigations.
